Privacy policy

How Markets to Freedom handles your data, what we collect and the rights you have under UK GDPR.

Last updated: 12 May 2026.

What we collect

The only personal data we actively collect is your email address, and only if you give it to us by signing up to the newsletter or the Insider waitlist. We do not ask for your name, your address or anything else.

Separately, the site uses Plausible Analytics to count visits and understand which pages and articles get read. Plausible is privacy-friendly and does not use cookies or collect personal data. We only see anonymous, aggregated traffic.

How we use it

Your email address is used to send the newsletter or the waitlist update you signed up for. Nothing else. We do not sell, rent or share the list with third parties.

Analytics data is used to understand what is working and what is not, so the show and the writing can be made better over time.

Processors we use

These are the third-party services that handle parts of our infrastructure. Each one has its own privacy practices, which you can read on their sites.

  • Vercel. Hosting the site. Sees IP addresses and request data as standard for any web host.
  • Beehiiv. Newsletter delivery. Stores your email address and your subscription preferences.
  • Plausible. Site analytics. Cookie-free, aggregated, no personal identifiers.
  • Google Fonts. Serving the Playfair Display and Inter typefaces used across the site.
  • YouTube. Where the show is hosted and embedded. YouTube applies its own cookies when you press play on an embedded video.

Legal basis

For the newsletter, we rely on your consent. You give it by signing up and you can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.

For analytics, we rely on legitimate interest. The data is aggregated and cookie-free, and the purpose is product improvement.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Ask what data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
  • Ask us to delete what we hold
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Object to any specific use

To exercise any of these, email us at the address below. We respond within a calendar month.

Cookies

The site uses essential cookies only. Plausible Analytics is cookie-free. A consent banner will be added once analytics use grows to the point where it materially affects compliance.

Embedded YouTube videos set their own cookies when played. That is a YouTube behaviour, not ours.

Contact and complaints

For any privacy question, email hello@marketstofreedom.com.

If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator. We would always prefer to hear from you first.
