Work with me

25 years across energy markets and commercial leadership.

I spent the first decade trading European power and gas at Shell and Gazprom Marketing and Trading. I then spent seven years as Global Head of Power, Gas, Carbon and Coal at Refinitiv (now LSEG), growing that business from $23m to $50m in revenue, before a senior executive role at ICIS working with major energy accounts on data, analysis and forecasting.

Today I'm building Markets to Freedom. Alongside it, I take on a small number of projects where that background is genuinely useful.

Where I can be useful

Three kinds of problems

Not a services menu. The areas where 25 years on the desk and in commercial leadership tend to be worth something.

Markets and strategy

Understanding a market properly

A market or competitive landscape, a growth opportunity, an acquisition worth investigating, or a trading or market structure question, particularly in power, gas and carbon.

Commercial growth and execution

Turning a plan into delivered revenue

Commercial strategy, international growth, go to market execution, and the operating discipline that makes a growth plan actually land.

AI and scalable execution

Doing more without adding complexity

Practical, AI enabled ways of working, applied the way I'm applying them inside Markets to Freedom.

How I'm using AI right now

Markets to Freedom is where I'm actually building this, not just describing it. I'm developing and testing AI enabled ways of working there: research, decision making, strategic clarity, rapid testing and learning, and more integrated execution. The underlying idea is more execution capacity and speed without proportionately more people or organisational complexity.

This is current, practical work I'm still developing in public. It is not an established AI consulting practice and I'm not an AI consultant, and nothing here claims a client outcome that hasn't happened.

How I work

I'm most interested in defined problems: a market or strategy question worth answering properly, a commercial plan that needs sharper execution, or a specific project where this background is genuinely useful. That might be a short piece of work, a fractional or advisory arrangement, or something else entirely. I'd rather find the right shape for the problem than fit it into a fixed package.
